How do I start a conference?

There are two ways to initiate a conference. You may:

To begin a conference on the phone:

  1. Log into your account at http://www.readycall.com.
  2. Dial your toll-free dial-in number to initiate a conference on the phone.

To begin a conference on the web:

  1. Go to http://www.readycall.com
  2. Click "Start Your Meeting."
  3. Enter your Conference Code and Leader PIN or Owner Number and Leader PIN, then click "Continue."
  4. Select your scheduled conference or start an unscheduled conference
  5. On the top of the Leader/Moderator screen, select the first tab to your left "Dial Participants," choose to either dial in yourself or have system dial you.

NOTE: When the conferencing system dials out to you, our system automatically initiates a conference on the phone. There's no need to dial the toll-free number and log in on the phone.

If you choose to dial in yourself follow the directions provided to begin a conference on the phone.

If you choose for system to dial you, verify your phone number under "Dial Out to Leader." If your phone number is listed incorrectly, replace it with the correct number and click "Dial Now." the system will call you immediately.

After you have answered the phone, click "Connect." Your conference is now active. You will hear tones when a participant enters or exits. Click the appropriate tabs to control or monitor your conference.

To begin a conference on the phone:

  1. Dial the toll-free dial in number on your Conference card.
  2. Enter your Conference Code and press "#."
  3. Press "*" to be recognized as the Leader.
  4. Enter your 4-digit Leader PIN and press "#." Your conference is now active. You will hear tones when a participant enters or exits.

How do my participants log in ?

Your participants may log into your conference either via the Internet, or by telephone. When you invite your guests to your meeting, you'll need to give them your Conference Code and the following instructions so that they can access the conference.

To join a conference on the Internet:

  1. Go to http://www.readycall.com
  2. Click "Join A Meeting."
  3. Enter your Conference Code, name and email address, click "Enter."
  4. Join the conference by following the dialing instructions on the Web page.
  5. Wait for the Leader to join and the conference to begin.
  6. To disconnect, hang up and click "Logout."

To join a conference on the telephone:

  1. Dial the toll-free dial-in number for your conference. (The Leader will provide this in advance.)
  2. At the recorded prompt, enter the Conference Code and the "#" sign, using the telephone keypad. (Your conference Leader will have given you the Conference Code in advance.)
  3. Wait for the Leader to join and the conference to begin.
  4. To disconnect, hang up the telephone.

How do I make a reservation or schedule a conference?

You don't have to schedule! It is completely automated. Once you have an account, you can conference anytime, anywhere. Because incoming calls are routed to available ports on each bridge, there's no need to reserve bridges or ports to hold a conference.

You can schedule a call and send email notification to participants, this is your choice!

  1. Go to http://www.readycall.com and click "Schedule a Conference."
  2. After logging in, you will select what date, time, time zone, duration, topic, leader and streaming option for the meeting.
  3. Then you have the option of sending out email notifications by adding participants, adding polling questions and adding a presentation for that upcoming event.
  4. After you define the polling questions, add a presentation and add participants for notification, click submit conference.
  5. Verify your conference information, if you need to make changes click "Edit Conference" if information is correct click "Save Conference."

What if I forget my Conference Code and PIN?

No problem. If you forget your Conference Code and/or Leader PIN, just call customer Customer Service at 800-624-6687. Or email us at info@conferencecall.com.

Can I initiate a call outside of the United States?

Currently, an international call can only be initiated through the this site and initiating the conference over the Web. You must choose to have the system dial out to the Leader and any international participants by putting in the international phone number and clicking "Dial Now."

What software and what modem speed do I need?

You need a stand-alone Web browser and an Internet connection with a modem speed of at least 28.8 Kbps to initiate or participate in a conference.

The system works with the following browsers:
Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher on Windows Systems
Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher on Windows Systems
AOL version 5.0 or higher

How do I end a conference?

Just hang up the phone to end your conference. If you are logged into the Web, you must also click the red "Log Out" button to log out of the Web.

Is a conference and my account information secure?

Yes. Your Leader PIN secures your account. You will distribute your Conference Code over and over again, but only your secret Leader PIN activates a conference. Your Leader pin also enables access to your Account Management section.

Your conferences can be protected from intrusion by utilizing the conference lock command.

  • You can lock and unlock a conference through the Conference Control menu on your "Who's on the Phone" page.
  • OR, you can press "*7" (lock) and "#7" (unlock) on your telephone keypad.

Finally, you can always monitor who is on the phone and who is on the Web at all times.

  • Click on "Who's on Phone" or "Who's on the Web,"
  • OR, press the "Play Name" button next to each person under "Who's on the Phone."

Yes, it is compatible with AOL version 5.0 and higher.

Will modem speed affect product performance? If so, what's the recommended modem speed?

Yes, your modem speed will affect the performance of conference. While it is possible to use the system with a modem speed as slow as 28.8 Kbps, you'll get better performance using the recommended modem speed of at least a 33.6 Kbps.

Can I connect through our company's firewall?

Yes. The products and services are firewall friendly using Port 80..

Can I connect with a Macintosh computer?

No. The system is not currently supported on Macintosh systems.

What are the minimum computer hardware and memory requirements?

You'll need a PC with a Pentium 200 MHz processor, and at least 32 MB of RAM.

If I have other applications open on my desktop, will that affect the performance of the conference?

Yes. The impact may be greater or lesser depending on your computer's processor speed and memory size. We suggest that, for optimal performance, you close other applications on your computer.

I'm not getting all of the icons to appear on my screen. What should I do?

Go to the top of your Web browser and click on "Refresh." Once your screen is refreshed, all the icons should appear.
